When we first opened in 1999, the main focus of the beverage program was wine. Pairing German reislings and Alsatian pinot gris with the flavors of Vietnam became a passion project of chef Eric Banh, and he soon began to win Wine Spectator awards for his efforts.
When we opened a second location in Bellevue—with a full bar—inventive and inspired cocktails became a huge focus. Then, shortly after expanding and remodeling the Captitol Hill location in 2014 by adding a cocktail lounge, Monsoon began serving craft cocktails on both sides of the lake.
Beverage Director and head barkeep Jon Christiansen offers a wide variety of beverage options with dasies, sours, fizzes and bucks alongside spirit forward Manhattan flights, barrel-aged cocktails, and an inventive selection of housemade non-alcoholic refreshemnts.
